Madonna made a strong impression at her sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City by wearing a revealing red outfit that showed off her muscles.
The 65-year-old pop star wore this bold outfit for a special reason: she was celebrating her daughter Mercy’s 18th birthday during the show.
Madonna, who is originally from Michigan, brought her daughter Mercy on stage to play piano while she performed the 1992 song “Bad Girl.” Her 18-year-old son David also joined in, playing guitar for the 2003 song “Mother and Father.”
Fans were surprised by Madonna’s muscular look at her recent concert. Some people on social media said she was too old to dress like that, while others praised her appearance.
Madonna is often in the news not just for her music but also for her lively and dramatic performances.
Last Friday (January 19), two fans, Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, filed a lawsuit against Madonna. They accused her of “false advertising” because she was late to her December 13 concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The lawsuit, filed in New York, seeks unspecified damages. According to the BBC, Madonna started her show at 10:45 pm because of sound check issues, which confused many concertgoers who thought she was hours late.
Despite recent health problems, including a serious bacterial infection that put her in a 48-hour coma and needed a NARCAN injection to revive her, Madonna hasn’t stopped her music career. She has 44.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify and is currently on her Celebration Tour, which has made $77.4 million from 79 shows.
Madonna has teamed up with creative director Lewis James and musical director Stuart Price to create an amazing stage show for her 12th concert tour, celebrating her 40-year career. Instead of the usual band or singer, she chose Bob the Drag Queen, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8, to open her shows.
Even though Madonna has had health issues in the past, including knee and hip injuries that caused her to cancel 14 shows during her Madame X Tour in 2019-2020, she remains strong. The coronavirus pandemic also made things tough, but she had knee surgery in April 2020, hip surgery in November 2020, and got treatment for “missing cartilage.”
Looking to the future, Madonna plans to direct her own biopic for Universal Pictures called Little Sparrow, starring Julia Garner, a three-time Emmy winner. She worked on the script with Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody at first, and then with Erin Wilson after Cody left. The movie will focus on Madonna’s incredible career and personal life.
